  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

    IT’S ALIVE!!

Turns out the o-ring configuration as shown in the manual either doesn’t work or didn’t work with the paintball adaptor and reg that I’ve got.

An o-ring is needed at the low pressure side of the reg where it bottoms out with the paintball adaptor (the stepped bit highlighted yellow). No other o-ring is needed on the low pressure side.

Despite how it looks in the manual!

    EBDC0957-63FF-4448-9E04-6519DDDEFCD1.jpeg

The bottle / high pressure side o-ring is as shown in the manual. The low pressure o-ring goes on the yellow highlighted bit below.

It’s pretty much as Martin said, as opposed to how it looks in the book. At a guess I’d say that some combination of the reg, paintball adaptor and manual that I was send are incompatible / outdated or superseded so it didn’t quite tally up. What I thought was air escaping via the bleed hole (which did happen at first as the piston stem seal had been dislodged during filling) was actually air coming out of an improper seal between the reg and adaptor. Not quite sure why the air was coming out of the low pressure side of the reg during filling but it all seems okay now. Just need to get the dive bottle refilled and a chrono / zero check and we’re (finally) back in business. Hopefully my many and varied mistakes during a routine reg change may help someone somewhere down the line. Thanks for all the advise so far everyone :thumb:

Thanks Martin, that’s very generous. I’m just pleased that it’s all sorted and seems to be holding air.

What was a bit strange is that the first couple of shots (dry fire) were very weak. Then a small leak from the barrel and breech. Another couple of (dry fire) shots and the mystery breech leak stopped and I was back up to power. All very odd

Rather than keep filling up and draining the bottle when messing with reg pressures am thinking of buying a blanking cap for the bottle end of the reg and then just connecting to the quick fill on the reg. Has anyone else done the same?

My method is not quite the same.
Air intake as normal fill. Bottle end with a adapter and quick connector to reg pressure tester, reg tester has a bleed valve.
Access to the reg adjustment and little air wasted.
    Technology .

Hi Vard this is my bottle reg tester, using a quality digital gauge off the gun. you can of course replace the rear fill port on the RTI with a gauge but readings you will get will only be as accurate as the gauge, also you will have to degas the gun losing air when you want to work on the reg.
    If the brass unit/adaptor is fitted only its tethered so shots can be fired and chrono results obtained. 20220615_150745.jpg 20220615_150543.jpg 20220615_150658.jpg 20220615_150745.jpg 20220615_150658.jpg 20220615_150543.jpg 20220615_150658.jpg 20220615_150745.jpg 20220615_150543.jpg 20220615_150658.jpg 20220615_150745.jpg 20220615_150543.jpg 20220615_150658.jpg

    Thanks for the pics Martin.
Have got a large gauge I use for setting my rapid regs up. Going to get an adaptor so it can go on the RTI with aim of a similar setup to yourself . Could come in handy for other projects as well.
Did another chrono string this morning and the RTI reg definitely has a lag time for want of a better term. But it’s not a lot and if you were not chronoing and /or shooting pretty fast doubt you would notice.

Vard the adaptor where the pressure gauge sits is a paintball refilling bottle valve with 2 outlets, one for the gauge the other for a bleed off valve, in this case a tap.

    Just for the RTI users.
As discussed I've had a few RTI reg problems.
I fitted a lane regulator. Working perfectly.
Over a month ago I received the latest RTI regulator. Gratis.
I've spent enough on postage alone. Bloody hobby ;).
So far I'm totally happy with the latest RTI regulator.
Pushed it from 90 bar to 180. Recovery is excellent.
First couple of weeks I had a couple of bar overnight creep. One dry fire and sorted.
Now it is stable from day to day. I'm happy.
    Yes, a long journey.
Again, I can adjust to the pellet, velocity etc.
Most of my RTI regulator problems have been in winter. Cooler temperatures.
Can't wait for winter. Plastic shrink wrap. Fridge overnight.;)
3 test shots and it performs perfect.
I'm fortunate, Francisco sent me this one free.
Let's see what the future winter shooting brings on.
So far I'm happy with the latest RTI regulator.
    I must clarify, so far.;)

Yeah I've literally looked until I'm sick of looking no m18x1.5 to foster anywhere, I would order from abroad but since the b word I just can't be doing with the hassle.

    Cheers mate atb

Hole what for Vard, the swivel collar with the fill port and bottle gauge fit on that with some O rings the the bottle O ring and bottle. The bottle when screwed on tightens and seals it.

I was comparing it to the RTI and Lane reg. I can’t get the huma to work !
The bottle didn’t seem like it wanted to fill and no air went past the reg with 100 indicated on bottle gauge.
Had to remove the fill nipple to depressurise.
The only think I did was wind the reg adjuster screw clockwise to what should have equalled about 90 bar from the 125 it was set too.
I’ve put the RTI reg back on now .

Hey Vard just striped my reg off the gun and its the same, just look at the photos.
One thing to check its a schoolboy error is the fill port must be fitted to the large hole in the collar and the gauge into the small hole, if it s the other way it would severly restrict the air.

    Hope this helps.... Martin...

Thanks for that Martin. The fill valve is on the correct hole . I just could not get it to fill properly.Even removed the screw out the rear that regulates the air flow out of the fitting .Tried filling quickly/slowly ….. still no good

More reg headaches here too  Finally got to putting a chrono string through the gun. Filled to 250bar. Was expecting around the 865fps mark. First shot was 995, then 980, 950, 912 all the way down to 630 after 13 shots. Plus the gauge on the reg is stuck at 200!
Seems like the gun is acting as though no reg is installed?? De gassing as we speak and will strip it all down tomorrow, time permitting. Does anybody know of anything in particular that I should be looking for? Damaged reg seals perhaps?

Vard have you changed the fill valve, the original one on my unit bottomed out touching the reg body so replaced it with a spare and a dowty seal washer.
It could be the same problem with yours even though you removed the screw it might have closed the end of the fill port thus restricting the filling air flow into the bottle. Its worth swapping it out it might work, you never know.
